In an unprecedented expression of mission, CHRISTUS Foundation for HealthCare has launched the Living the Legacy Campaign to improve access to health and human services for those who are uninsured thereby extending the healing ministry of Jesus Christ and honoring the legacy entrusted to it.
The centerpiece of the Campaign is a Health Center in Midtown that will become the new home of San José Clinic.In addition to the medical and dental service provided by San José, the 55,000-square-foot Health Center will also offer counseling services through collaboration with Catholic Charities of the Archdiocese of Galveston-Houston. The Center will also serve as the new operational base for the renowned CHRISTUS Healthy Living Mobile Clinic, extending its reach and increasing its benefits.
The Campaign has an $18 million goal, which includes $14 million for construction of the new Health Center. Support for the Campaign has been generous. As of April 2008, the Campaign has received gifts and commitments totaling more than $11.74 million. For more information, please click here.

They confront a lack of personal transportation, high out-of-pocket costs, language differences, a shortage of services to help them understand and use what health-care resources they have, and a declining supply of primary-care physicians - the health-care cornerstones.
